The North Face
Chicago, IL
The North Face wanted to find a low cost way to provide a much needed “facelift” at their downtown Chicago location. Light Plan Design was charged with a lighting design that maintained a strict budget and still enforced the
brand image of the popular retailer.
The first design challenge was to highlight large vertical advertisement murals on the second floor storefront. This was achieved with linear asymmetric high output fixtures on both the top and bottom of the mural to provide a uniform wash of light to attract by passers from a story below. Inside the store, lighting was retrofit to create a completely new look while maintaining many of the existing luminaires. This resulted in a low cost solution that could be completed
while the store remained open.
